The browser extension lives in your browser toolbar and can act as a bridge between your browser and compatible Web3 sites. Depending on the networks and features currently supported, you can use it to view assets, manage wallet addresses, and approve transactions or connections. Availability and interface details may change over time, so use Coinbase’s official help center for current product guidance.
It is different from a custodial exchange account. With self-custody, you control access to the wallet through its recovery credentials. That brings greater autonomy, but it also means there may be no company able to restore access if you lose those credentials. Transactions on public blockchains are generally irreversible, and network fees or app risks apply.
